This is an absolutely stunning hike that runs past a scenic reservoir and continues up Bell Canyon to a beautiful waterfall. At the waterfall you can sit on a flat granite ridge and enjoy the spectacular views of the Salt Lake Valley. This hike is just over 4 miles round trip. To get to the first waterfall and back took us approximately 4 hours (this included plenty of stops and a decent break at the waterfall). Those looking for a more strenuous hike may continue to an upper reservoir and to a number of accessible peak trails. We had heard that it was common to see wildlife among this trail but were still totally shocked to see many wild birds AND come within feet of three foxes! Here are a few of the lovely sites you'll see on your hike:
Bell Canyon to the First Waterfall is not a walk in the park... I won't tell you it is. It is moderately difficult but worth the trip! As a very new hiker I can tell you that if I can do it, you can too! And you will love it.
Because Bell Canyon is a watershed area, dogs are not permitted.
